Perhaps for once in my life I’ll take a chance History will remember us as tramps Never underestimate a tramp
I guess it’s best to move beyond all consciousness To dwell among the pure and truly blessed And bow on bloody knees at your behest
Take five and skin my simple-minded ass alive Burn out all this broken-hearted jive Take what I need to survive

At Your Behest In this “epic” (the oldest song here) we can perceive the essence of the LPC “strategy” in a nutshell. Namely, the abrupt juxtaposition of country-rock and dissonant elements I really sound like Robert Christgau here, don't I) or as I like to personify it, Gram Parsons fronting the Velvet Underground. Thanks to Fetko for some truly scintillating drums and percussion. The initial guitar and drum tracks that Rob recorded for this song are probably the “hottest” thing on the CD. Unfortunately I had to bury them beneath my sonic interpretation of “European Son To Delmore Schwarts”. |
