Waiting for a signal

To bend and intertwine

And damp the white noise in my distorted mind

Waiting for a signal

A pulse both supple and benign

To share the wonder of my distorted mind

Retreat, retreat, this loneliness is my lone conceit

It soils the beauty of my distorted mind

My Distorted Mind

This song is so old. I wrote it in five minutes in the summer of 1995. It's a modal progression, meaning it's the same progression over and over. Rob and I must have spent about ten hours trying to mix both leads way up front and center and we never really got it right. Sometimes we have to bow before the limits of technology. Speaking of limits, that's yours truly on drums.
