I pull them out of the bars every day

Their faces are yellow and rheumy and gray.

Full-course fumigation 10 hours a day

And patience is no reward.

I wobble and stumble among these spent lives

No pennies from heaven, no words for the wise

Just souls full of drink that I’ll always despise.

Whiskey Run

Catamount (Jen Schmidt and myself) were in the midst of recording "Watch Your Ikons Crumble" in the winter of 2002 when one day Jen said "let's record some funny songs", and a half an hour later we came up with this. In strict cab-driving terminology a "whiskey run" is a eupemism for transporting a rather sodden customer from his/her home to the liquor store and back. Great sound effects by Rob and 'sic' horn stylings by Jen.
